Richard M. Burleigh, LPC
I hold a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and I have been licensed by the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselor's Board of Examiners since 2018. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to fostering mental wellness and providing compassionate care to individuals facing a variety of challenges.
I work with clients of all ages, providing therapeutic services for mood and behavioral issues. I am committed to helping individuals overcome struggles such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties, offering a safe and supportive environment for personal growth.
In addition to my private practice, I am deeply involved in forensic mental health work. I develop and facilitate treatment groups at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System, a forensic hospital located in Jackson, LA. This role allows me to provide specialized care and rehabilitation services for individuals in the criminal justice system, with a focus on reducing recidivism and promoting positive behavioral change.
As part of my diverse skill set, I also conduct child custody evaluations for the courts, ensuring that decisions about children's well-being are based on thorough, impartial assessments. My work in this area is rooted in my passion for supporting families through challenging times, helping to ensure that children are placed in environments that are safe, stable, and nurturing.
Through my combined experience in private practice, forensic mental health, and legal evaluations, I strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve, guiding them toward healing, understanding, and a brighter future.
